Sydney-based composer, performer and teacher Briana Handley is a classically trained AMEB-accredited violinist who has been performing since 2008. Her studies in contemporary music for her Bachelor’s Degree have seen her create many compositions for a variety of instruments, primarily violin and cello.
Briana’s passion for music extends beyond violin, as she has performed as a vocalist in many ensembles and musical theater shows. Additionally, she has also performed on viola in orchestras and string quartets throughout her studies.
Briana has teaching experience with 4 to 50 year-old students in violin, vocals and music theory. Notably, Briana was chosen as a professional tutor at South Coast Music Camp in 2019 to conduct the chamber ensemble. Her vast experience with all aspects of the music industry have allowed her to develop as both an artist and a teacher.
Vicky is an accomplished cellist with a passion for chamber music and education. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance (Cello) with Umberto Clerici at the Sydney Conservatorium before continuing music studies at the Australian National Academy of Music(ANAM) with Howard Penny.
She has participated in summer schools and music festivals in Europe and South America. During her time at ANAM, she worked with a number of accomplished conductors and guest artists including Richard Tognetti, Anthony Marwood and Simone Young.
In 2019 she moved to Tokyo to teach English at Bunkyo University Junior & Senior High School to Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 for one year.
As a cello teacher, Vicky encourages students to develop their own learning styles. She has a patient and practical approach and believes learning the cello should be fun as well as rewarding.
