Makenna Chang

Makenna started her musical journey at the age of five in both piano
and violin and continued both instruments throughout high school with
a full music scholarship at Wenona School. Upon graduating, as a
string player, she had gained experience playing in string quartets,
held the position of concertmaster at the school orchestra and
received a nomination for HSC Music Encore as a Music 2 and Extension
student.

Makenna has reached LMus AMEB skill for violin and the Certificate of
Performance (CMus) for piano. Additionally, she has completed Grade 4
in AMEB Musicianship and Grade 5 in AMEB Theory. She has also
participated in several string eisteddfods, receiving Highly Commended
at Sydney Eisteddfod 15-20yrs Violin Section and 2nd Prize at the
Innerwest Eisteddfod Open Age String Section.

Makenna's teaching style is adaptive, and tailored to meet the individual
needs and learning styles regardless of age or level. Furthermore, 
with experience in both classical and contemporary styles
she can teach a wide variety of repertoire. 
Makenna also stresses the importance of a solid foundation
technique just as much as musical expression and personal style.
Overall, her teaching style is marked by patience, enthusiasm, and a
deep passion for music, ensuring that every student not only learns
but thrives and enjoys the process of making music.
