Wittner have been making metronomes since 1895 and they are known for the reliability and quality of their products. Thanks to experience and tradition, new technologies and modern production methods, they have become the manufacturer with the widest range of metronomes in the world. Traditional metronomes like the 814K are built to last and if looked after properly, they will last up to 100 years or more!,,

This metronome is encased in plastic that looks just like real wood, giving the appearance of a traditional metronome, but at a more affordable price. All of Wittner’s metronomes have a very pleasant and resonant tick-tock tone, and due to its size, the 814K is loud enough for use with a piano or in an ensemble setting.

No batteries are required for this tradition style of metronome which operates via a wind-up mechanism. It also has a bell that can be used to emphasize specific beats. This can be changed to chime every 2, 3, 4 or 6 beats and tempo can be set from 40-208 beats per minute. To adjust the tempo there is a weight on the ticking needle that goes up and down. To adjust slower, move the weight up (long slow ticks) and to adjust faster, move the weight lower (short and fast ticks). The 814K also has Italian tempo terms next to the BPM marks as a guide.
