By the Sea tells a story which begins quite serenely, and becomesturbulent with the arrival of the tide (which brings with it the minor mode). The unison chorus must sing as one story-teller, regaling the audience in earnest, relaxing only with the arrival of the “solid town.” Duration: ca. 2:08.
