IN BRIEF

I’m an enthusiastic and versatile piano pedagogue with years of experiences in music instruction for students of various levels. I’m an exceptional communicator with enriched skills for visual and aural based teaching in piano.

I have the ability to motivate and inspire students. Most importantly, I have a deep desire to empower others to achieve their potential through music.

EXPERIENCE

LECTURER OF PIANO (Tertiary Level: FT Permanent) Shenyang Conservatory of Music / China / 2009

 – Present

Teaching a variety of courses for students in the piano area of undergraduate study (including open workshops and masterclasses, pedagogy, collaborative piano, literature and chamber music.)

Teaching up to sophomore-level music theory

Accompanying undergraduate students of other 

instrumental majors

Additional teaching duties determined by needs of the Music department and candidate’s strengths.

PIANO TEACHER/PERFORMER/ADJUDICATOR

China / 2009 – Present

• Providing specialised piano related services to all students, including adults, young children and special needs students, as appropriate
• Planning and preparing lessons in relation to individual needs
• Acquiring appropriate teaching materials and resources for classes
• Teaching theory, aural skills and practical techniques to students
• Liaising with the schools and parents, as appropriate, with regard to the students’ progress
• Performing as guest artist in provincial workshops, masterclasses and specialist concerts.
• Participates as an adjudicator in piano-arts in major regional/provincial/national competitions across China.
