She was admitted to university with a first-place national piano performance ranking and secured second prize at the prestigious Singapore International Piano Competition. Ranee also successfully passed the highly competitive entrance exam for the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Hungary, where she was one of only two students accepted nationwide in that year’s autumn intake.
