Leo Bae
Leo Bae comes to Parsons Academy with a master's degree in jazz from the USA and more than Ten Years of teaching experience across a wide range of diverse contexts. These include Private lessons across all ages, up to complex Performance-based Programs that require intense interaction. He also has taught Jazz Ensembles up to University Standards.
Leo’s approach to Piano teaching is to foster a sense of enjoyment in each piano lesson. Learning and teaching music has helped him grow as a musician and personally.
He loves to share his “Passion for Music” with students of all ages.
Leo says that “Fundamental skills can be imprinted seamlessly in the mind, especially at a younger age, while students develop a Passion for Music.” Leo believes that:
“Having Fun is Key to Piano Playing Sustainability.”
As a performing pianist, Leo takes stylistic influences from Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Oscar Peterson, and Brad Mehldau.
Additionally, he has composed, directed, and performed with his own professional large jazz ensemble in Montreal – “Incarnadine Big Band” – which received a Canadian Council for Arts Grant in 2022.
Leo is a highly-trained Pianist and Educator.
