Ken Yu – Guitar Instructor

Ken Yu is a highly experienced and inspiring guitar educator with over 15 years of international teaching experience. A graduate of the renowned Berklee College of Music, Ken earned his Advanced Professional Certificate with a perfect 4.0 GPA and was awarded a prestigious Berklee Scholarship. He is also currently a Berklee Online Mentor, supporting and guiding students within the global music community.

Ken specialises in both acoustic and electric guitar, teaching a wide range of styles including Rock, Blues, Jazz, Fusion, and Contemporary Pop. With training from world-class guitarists, he brings authentic, real-world musical knowledge into every lesson.

His teaching style is structured, engaging, and tailored to each student. Ken focuses on building strong technical foundations while also developing creativity, improvisation, and stage confidence. With experience as a band leader, guitarist, and vocalist, he helps students not only play well—but perform with confidence.

Ken is particularly skilled in preparing students for AMEB and RSL (Rockschool) exams, as well as guiding those who wish to pursue music more seriously. Patient, motivating, and fluent in both English and Mandarin, he creates a supportive learning environment where students stay engaged, progress steadily, and develop a genuine passion for music.
