Heather Kim – Violin Instructor

Heather Kim is a passionate and inspiring violin teacher dedicated to helping students develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music. With over 15 years of violin experience, Heather creates lessons that are engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student's individual goals and learning style.

A highly accomplished young musician, Heather achieved both the AMusA and LMusA with High Distinction at the remarkable ages of 12 and 14. She was awarded full scholarships to both Meriden Anglican School for Girls and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she is currently completing her Bachelor of Music under the internationally renowned violinist Professor Ole Bohn. Heather also completed an intensive international exchange program in Denmark, studying with Professor Eszter Haffner.

As an active performer, Heather has served as Concertmaster for several Sydney Conservatorium orchestras and has performed with numerous prestigious ensembles, including the Festival of Choral Music at the Sydney Opera House, the Australian National Music Camp, Australian Chamber Orchestra Workshops, Horizon Orchestra, Australian Indian Orchestra, Rockdale Opera Orchestra, and Symphonic Encounters.

Heather believes that every student deserves a positive, encouraging, and personalised learning experience. She teaches students from 4 years old through to adults, with experience guiding complete beginners, AMEB candidates, and students learning purely for enjoyment. Her lessons focus not only on developing excellent technique and musicality, but also on building confidence, healthy practice habits, and a genuine enjoyment of music.
