Joey Ji has been engaged in guitar teaching for 12 years. He started learning Classical guitar in middle school. He continued his studies at the Central Conservatory of Music, obtaining a Certificate as an Advanced Music Teacher and a Certificate of Proficiency in Guitar. During his teaching career, he has also formed several bands and performed at major music festivals in China, such as MIDI Music Festival and Strawberry Music Festival. In 2013, he was invited with his band Chaosmind to perform at Summersonic, Asia's largest indoor music festival.

Joey emphasizes strengthening students': Fundamental skills, Developing a sense of rhythm, Performing Complete Musical Pieces, and Fostering Creativity. 

In addition to this, Joey was honored with the Outstanding Gardener Award at the 2020 China National Arts Education Achievement Exhibition and Youth Selection Competition. 
Many of his students have also won gold medals in this competition.
