Parsons Music Australia's flagship store was established by Parsons Music Corporation;one of the world's top three piano manufacturers, seventh largest world retailer and China's number one musical instrument retailer.

Our Australian flagship store was opened in July 2017. The store provides services that include musical instrument sales, maintenance of some instruments, music events and other professional services.

PARSONS MUSIC HISTORY 

Parsons Music Corporation, headquartered in Hong Kong, was founded in 1986 by Terence and Arling Ng. Since then it has become the Greater China Region’s largest and the most prestigious multinational musical companies, with more than 100 retail locations and 80 music schools throughout China and Hong Kong. 

The Group is now one of the world’s top 3 piano manufacturers; the world’s top seven and China’s No.1 musical instrument retailer; it also ranks 11th in the  Global Music Industry Rankings.

1993  Developed the retail market in mainland China

Established a main showroom at Hong Kong Times Square and started to explore the mainland China retail market.

1999  Invested in the musical instrument manufacturing industry


Invested in the musical instrument manufacturing industry and established factories in Guangzhou and Yichang.

2007 Acquisition of the German WILH • STEINBERG piano manufacturing factory


Acquisition of the German WILH • STEINBERG piano manufacturing factory.

2008 Established the KAWAI Piano Selection Centre in Asia


Established the KAWAI Asia Piano Selection Centre in Hong Kong with an area of approximately 14,000 square feet.;

Successfully self-developed the carbon fiber string-striking device.

2009 Created the “Yangtze River” piano


Creation of own brand with independent intellectual property rights – creation of the “Yangtze River” piano

2010 Ranked 16th among the top 225 “Global Music and Audio Products Industries


Ranked 16th among the top 225 “Global Music and Audio Products Industries;
Introduced the internationally-respected Japanese kindergarten teaching method - KAWAI music course.;
Formally established the Parsons • Yangtze River Piano Scholarship;
Acquisition of American automatic piano playing system, Pianoforce.

Held the 1st Yichang Yangtze River Piano Music Festival.

2012 Ranked in the top 10 “Global Musical Instrument Retailers


Ranked in the top 10 “Global Musical Instrument Retailers” to become the only piano manufacturer in mainland China and Hong Kong to be selected.;
Jointly invested with Kawai Musical Instruments Manufacturing Co., Ltd in Japan to establish Shanghai Kawai Electronics Co., Ltd.;
Established Shandong Ronisch Sejung Musical Instruments Co., Ltd. ;

2014 年 Yangtze River pianos attended the “World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC)

Yangtze River pianos attended the “World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC)” stage to host the 3rd China Shenzhen International Piano Concerto Competition.;
Yichang annual output of pianos broke the 80,000 mark to become the world’s leading producer of pianos in terms of annual production output.;
Jointly set up the Music Teaching Equipment & Course R&D Centre with the Educational Equipment R&D Centre, Ministry of Education, to help Yichang City gain the title of “The Chinese City of Pianos.;
Won the “14th Outstanding Artistic and Cultural Enterprise Achievement Award” from “CAPITAL”, a Hong Kong authoritative financial magazine.
