Cathy Chan – Piano Instructor

Cathy Chan is an accomplished and highly experienced piano educator with nearly 20 years of international teaching and performance experience across Hong Kong, mainland China, Australia, Canada, and the USA. Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, Cathy has an exceptional record of student achievement, maintaining a 100% examination pass rate, with over 80% of her students achieving Distinction in ABRSM, AMEB, and Trinity examinations.

Cathy graduated from the University of Newcastle Conservatorium with a Bachelor of Music, specialising in Piano Performance and Music Education. She also holds the prestigious Licentiate of Trinity College London (LTCL) in Piano Recital. Her professional training includes studies with renowned pianist Dr. Gian-Franco Ricci, music educator Dr. Helen English, and Dr. I-Ian Long, the first ABRSM examiner in Asia and Professor at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

Since 2007, Cathy has taught students of different ages and abilities, successfully preparing them for graded and diploma examinations, performances, and international music competitions. In recognition of her dedication and student achievements, she has received numerous Outstanding Teacher Awards.

Cathy's teaching combines a strong technical foundation with expressive musicianship, effective practice strategies, and performance confidence.
